Sandy Orford was born to a non-showing home, but took an interest at the age of 16, holding Poodle noses for handlers. Some of her first breeds that she showed and owned were Airedale Terriers, Lakeland Terriers, Shih Tzus and Pomeranians. She was an assistant for Elaine Mitchell for seven years before becoming a Professional All-Breed Dog Handler.

Sandy opened her own grooming salon, Classy Clips Inc. 1984 with a hand from her bath-boy-boyfriend, Bob, who has stayed by her side every since. They have two children, Beth and Courtney, who are actively involved in the Dog Show scene. Once the children were older, Sandy took an interest in Dog Grooming Competitions, competing and winning top awards at the World Grooming Competition 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013, as well as becoming a Certified Master Groomer.

In 2002 her oldest daughter, Beth, got a Shih Tzu from Shaunna Bernardin, winning the 2004 National Specialty and sparking an interest between the two to breed and show Shih Tzus. Since then, they have bred multiple Canadian and American Championships, winning Best Puppy in Shows, Group First's, Group placements, and American Best In Shows! In 2013, their homebred female, Jolene, was #1 Female Shih Tzu in America, #3 Shih Tzu, winner of 7 American Best In Shows, 4 Best of Breed Specialty wins, and Select Female at the coveted Westminster Dog Show in New York City.

Between showing and grooming, Sandy is now a licensed CKC Judge, enjoy her future on the otherside of the ring. 

Barb has been a part of the Classy Clips team since 2001. She is a Certified Groomer with IPG and won “Best Groomer in Show.” Some of her favourite breeds to groom are the Terriers, such as Westies, Airedales and Schnauzers.

She has two lovely children, a daughter named Lilly, and a son, Lucas. Barb is part of the Shih Tzu family, owning one of Sandy's puppies, Daphne, a Canadian Champion, and their newest addition, Penelope, who is a Champion in both Canada and the USA.

Barb’s passion for dogs has carried to her children, who are active in the Manitoba Junior Kennel Club.

Beth has reduced her hours in pursuit of other passions, and is available on a casual basis. Please call or email to inquire availability.

Beth started her interest in dogs by being raised in a pile of hair at the Grooming Salon. At the salon, she began washing and folding dog towels then graduated to bathing, blow-drying and grooming as she got older. She is now a Certified Groomer with IPG.

She was Manitoba's Top Junior Handler in 2006 and has assisted Professional Dog Handlers in the US and Canada. Beth has won multiple Best In Show's, Group First's, Group Placements and Best Puppy in Shows.

Sandy and Beth have been working together breeding Shih Tzu’s under the Jadesilk prefix. Many of their dogs have accomplished Championships in both Canada and the USA.

Bob is the Classy Clips fixer, and can be found as the friendly receptionist. He helps the staff by answering phone calls, cleaning, and fixing any broken equipment.

Sandy and Bob have been together for more years than they will admit, and have 2 beautiful daughters together, Beth and Courtney. 

Bob was with Classy Clips from the beginning, starting as a bath boy, and assisting Sandy at Dog Shows. He would help show Poodles, and was known to occasionally win over Sandy.
